The production of an intercultural film is a promising and innovative way of supporting intercultural learning abroad and improving people’s reflection of the own intercultural experiences.
Going abroad is a big chance for intercultural learning. You not only interact with people from another culture. You also get a deep insight into how they live. But intercultural learning can be enhanced through systematic facilitating support.
A promising and innovative way of support is the production of a film on one’s intercultural experiences. This means of intercultural learning is especially effective if the production process is coached by an intercultural expert – who helps to select the best content, put the right focus and use adequate presentation techniques.
In the ‘ICXP Film Project’ (ICXP = Intercultural Experiences) we have supported and coached a large number of students in their production of films. From the broad variety of films, we have selected the top films concerning the intercultural content, the way of production, or a specific idea concerning content, presentation or technical realization.
